Job Summary

The role of the Technical Assurance Consultant is to ensure that both existing and new infrastructure services are fully standardized, optimized for both price and performance, and that they are closely aligned to the overall enterprise architecture that has been agreed with the business. In addition to this governance role, it is also expected that the Technical Assurance Consultant will provide proactive support to internal partners by way of consultancy and best practice. Furthermore and when necessary, the Technical Assurance Consultant will provide reactive operational assistance to support the restoration of services that may have failed or have been seen to be operating sub-optimally.

High Level Influencer Internally Focused - The job’s core deliverables rely on influencing or negotiating with a broad range of internal clients, specifically executives and/or senior management. Expectation of the need to employ specialized techniques and substantial experience. Relationships typically involve persuading or countering opposition.

IT Asset Management Analyst (Technical Assurance Consultant I) within Corporate Services division of ZNA IT Services.

This person will manage an inventory of technology-related assets (including software and hardware). This person will apply software licensing concepts to ensure license compliance and create status and management reports, such as compliance evidence, upcoming renewals, exceptions or on-demand materials. The IT Asset Management Analyst assists other IT groups in optimizing software requirements and provisioning for new projects. This person will facilitate the management of personal computer software and hardware assets across the ZNA organization, and server software licensing across the ZNA application landscape. This will involve, but not be limited to, monitoring and approving end user software orders, guiding end user software purchases to align to standards, ensuring compliance for software deployments and entitlements, and providing direction or recommendations on actions or plans to meet end user hardware needs.

Job Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or Business Manager and 4 or more years of experience in the Information Systems area.

  • Experience with IT configurations and specifications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Flexera Software Asset Management platform or similar SAM tools

  • Experience interpreting IT contractual agreements

  • IT Asset Management certification preferred

  • Knowledge of audit preparation, coordination, completion, follow-up, etc.

  • Knowledge of compliance issues, approaches, techniques, databases, etc.

  • Insurance and financial services industry experience.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

  • 5 or more years of IT Asset Management experience.

  • Experience with gathering and documenting detailed requirements and analysis.

  • Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization and tailor message according to the audience.

  • Effective presentation and project management skills

  • Certified IT Asset Manager (CITAM) form International Association of IT Asset Manager (IAITAM) or similar organization/certification

  • Thorough knowledge of personal computers, application software, and business system applications (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet, SharePoint, etc.).
