Zurich is currently looking for an Intern, to support our Claims Latent & Environmental team out of our Schaumburg, IL office.

This intern will work under immediate supervision and perform requested tasks alongside professionals who perform these roles. Generally this position is part of a summer program with an assigned mentor.

You will work on:

  • Assisting in handling of auto claims

  • Analyzing of coverage on both general liability and auto files

  • Assisting in development of cost shares on files.

You will:

  • Participate in the new hire training program for Latent & Environmental Claims.

  • Develop an understanding of the claims handling process from beginning to end.

  • Learn operations on the claims end of an insurance giant.

  • Practice customer service skills with external facing components.

  • Hone internal customer service communications involving lines of business within claims and other also departments within the company.

Other development opportunities:

  • Assigned daily tasks with structured schedule and support from Claims Latent & Environmental group

  • Opportunity to participate in community investment activities and various group activities offered by Zurich

Basic Qualifications:

  • Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Insurance, Finance, Statisticsor related field

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelors program and will be enrolled in the fall of 2019

  • Two or more years of college coursework (should be a rising Junior or Senior) and no prior years of experience required in the Administrative area

  • Microsoft Office experience

  • Minimum cumulative current grade point average of 3.0 (current could mean last semester GPA)

  • Be legally eligible to work in the U.S indefinitely

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills

  • Propensity for follow through

  • Strong ability to prioritize

  • Strong organizational skills
