Zurich NA Business Analyst Consultant III in Schaumburg, Illinois

Business Analyst Consultant III


Job Summary

The Business Analyst Consultant III will be responsible for requirements which will vary in size and complexity.


  • Lead analysis of business of requirements and translate them into user stories and acceptance criteria

  • Coordinate and lead activities with business owners to gather requirements

  • Document detailed functional and non-functional requirements

  • Use requirements management tools and techniques such as Use Cases, Data Matrix, Process Flow Diagrams, Quality Center, Jira, etc.

  • Support development, testing, implementation and training activities

  • Understand and apply different delivery approaches (Waterfall, SCRUM, Zurich Lean) and perform, independently, business analysis processes in accordance with Zurich Project Management Framework and the Zurich Risk Policy

  • Provide subject matter expertise to others in the organization

Job Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 6 or more years of experience in the Information Technology area


  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 8 or more years of experience in the Information Technology area


  • Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 6 or more years of experience in the Information Technology area.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of insurance industry business processes and processing

  • Experience with Agile methodology

  • Experience with Salesforce

  • Experience with Service Oriented Architecture concepts and technology

  • Experience with ETL concepts and technology

  • Experience with data query tools to perform data analysis and validation

  • Advanced negotiation skills

  • Experience with collaborating across many teams

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience leading workstreams

  • Knowledge of process engineering

  • Experience with core process redesign, continuous improvement methodologies

  • Process modeling tools

  • Business Systems Integration
