Actuary I (3a - GI)
Zurich is looking for an AVP & Actuary to assist with Operations of Finance Actuarial to work out of our North American Headquarters in Schaumburg, Illinois. This individual will be responsible for cross-unit coordination among Technical Execution, Reserving, Business Insights, and Data Visualization functions within Finance Actuarial. Responsibilities will include leading project/initiatives across Finance Actuarial, as well as, participating as an actuarial subject matter expert for interdepartmental projects. This role will also provide the opportunity to work with the Chief Actuary in preparing presentations and creating agendas for all Finance Actuarial employee meetings. This individual may also assist in the research of actuarial best practices and internal Zurich actuarial policies to drive improvement to processes and systems within Finance Actuarial.
To be successful in this role the candidate will have a broad range of experience in Pricing and Reserving across multiple lines of business.Equally important are strong project management, verbal, written, and presentation skills.
Manages the reserving or pricing process for the assigned line(s) and provides support and advice to the relevant chief pricing or reserving actuary and to the actuarial business partners, including insights into underlying performance and implications for the business. Assists in the training of less experienced personnel.

- Bachelor’s Degree and 8 or more years of experience in the Actuarial area
Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Sciences, Mathematics, Statistics or a related field with a mathematical, statistical or numerate background
Experience in multiple functional areas (pricing, reserving, capital management) and across multiple lines of business
Project management skills
Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
