Zurich has an open position for a Claims Associate within the Leave of Absence Case Management team in the Plantation office to support business start-up work, and subsequent case management support for our Disability, Absence, & Life programs. This role includes effectively managing Leave of absence claims for national and mid-market clients. We seek a self-starting individual seeking a real career opportunity who has demonstrated the ability to prioritize their workload in a fast-paced environment utilizing solid organization and time management skills. Successful candidates are empathetic and service-oriented.
As a Leave Management Claim professional you will support Group Disability, Absence Management and Life claims organization. Work with employees and their providers to obtain appropriate and timely information to render a determination on Federal FMLA, Leave of Absence, Company Leaves, and/or ADA, as well as ongoing recertification.
- Bachelors Degree and No prior experience required in the Claims area
- High School Diploma or Equivalent and 2 or more years of experience in the Customer Service area
- Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and No prior experience required in the Claims area
- Experience with Microsoft Office
Associates or Bachelors Degree
Work experience with disability claims and FMLA
Strong communication skills
Solid organization and time management skills
Adapt to a changing environment
Experience in a work environment requiring collaboration across work groups

Analyze FMLA claims to determine eligibility
Make appropriate determination based on state and federal FMLA regulations
Effective management of intermittent and continuous leave of absence claims through return to work or exhaustion of leave entitlement
Ensure legal compliance by following state and federal laws and regulations and internal control requirements (KPI’s)
Utilize critical thinking and analytical skills to make sound claim decisions
Timely and accurate decisions as established by the customer’s specific plan provisions
Contribute to quality and profitability by effectively implementing Claims Best Practices and meeting or exceeding Performance Guarantees
Strong organization and time management skills
Model behaviors that demonstrate commitment to corporate values
Protect Zurich’s reputation by keeping claims information confidential
