Zurich North America is currently seeking an experienced Claims Professional to join our Commercial Property team.To optimize the needs of the business and our customers, we prefer that the individual be located in IL,TX or CA.

At this level, you will handle a caseload of large loss commercial property claims of moderate to high exposure and complexity.You will manage claims through full cycle to resolution, and in accordance with Zurich’s best practices and authority limits. In this role, you will be expected to manage your cases more independently, and handle communications with key contacts, customers and brokers.

You will work out of a home-based office.

Approximately 30-50% domestic travel is expected.

You will also be part of the catastrophe response teams.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 6 or more years of experience in the Claims or Litigation area including commercial property claims handling experienceOR

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 8 or more years of experience in the Claims or Litigation area including commercial property claims handling experienceOR

  • Zurich approved Apprenticeship program including an Associate Degree and 6 or more years of experience in the Claims Handling area within the Insurance industry including commercial property claims handling experienceOR

  • Juris Doctor and 5 or more years of experience in the Claims or Litigation area including commercial property claims handling/litigation experience AND

  • Must obtain and maintain required adjuster license(s)

  • Knowledge of the insurance industry, claims and the insurance legal and regulatory environment

  • Negotiation experience

  • Customer service experience

  • Microsoft Office experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5 or more years of commercial property claims experience

  • Insurance designations such as SCLA, CPCU, AIC

  • Analytical skills

  • Strong communication skills

  • Ability to work independently

  • Experience collaborating across work groups
