Claims Associate II, Auto Total Loss


Zurich is currently seeking an entry level Claims Associate to join our team in Dallas (Addison) TX. At this level, you will have direct supervision with the investigation, evaluation and closure of auto property total loss claims. As part of this team, you will learn about commercial auto policy interpretation and coverages for assigned states, and how to manage a claims caseload of low exposure and complexity.

Primary Accountabilities include:

  • Maintain accurate electronic claims files by capturing and updating claims data/information in compliance with best practices for low complexity, low exposure personal or commercial line claims

  • Confirm policy existence by identifying coverage on low complexity claims

  • Work to have a timely resolution to claims by evaluating policy limits and coverage, evaluating damages and estimates, etc. and escalate issues appropriately while providing status updates to ensure overall customer satisfaction

  • Assess damages by calculating applicable damages or range of damages allowed by law

  • Ensure customer service by proactively communicating information, responding to inquiries and following customer protocols and Company best practices

  • In this position, you will have the ability to eventually work from home one day per week.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 2 or more years of experience in the customer service areaOR

  • Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and no experience in the claims areaOR

  • Bachelor’s Degree and no experience in the Claims areaAND

  • Experience with Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a support role in a claims administration or claims operations function

  • Ability to obtain and maintain required adjuster license

  • Familiarity with auto claims/estimation/total loss process

  • Analytical and organization skills

  • Ability to multi-task

  • Strong communication skills

  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment

  • Experience collaborating across work groups
