Zurich North America is currently hiring a Reinsurance Project Lead and this person will work out of our Schaumburg North America HQ in Schaumburg, IL or Remotely. This person will report to the Reinsurance Business Lead VP and will be a part of our North American Group Reinsurance function. The North American Group Reinsurance Finance function manages reinsurance recoverables in excess of $18 billion, is responsible for the proper annual accounting and settlement of approximately $9 billion of assumed and ceded premiums and has the fiduciary responsibility for reinsurance collateral of approximately $15 billion.

The Reinsurance Project Lead will support and manage a project underway to transform the legacy reinsurance landscape into SAP FS-RI and FS-CD. The project is a complex, multi-year effort and the expectation would be for the role to support the on-going operations post go-live. The Reinsurance Project Lead will manage treaty contract placements and perform set-up of the contract master data into new reinsurance platform. Additional duties include supporting system implementation process for onboarding new lines of business including creating process documents, testing and issue resolution. The Reinsurance Project Lead will take a proactive and holistic approach to business practices and processes, including identifying opportunities for improvement, developing solutions, managing initiatives, and aligning appropriate Subject Matter Experts (SME) and resources needed from across the business to execute change.

The Reinsurance Project Lead will partner across the business to identify, develop, and implement change management strategies; acts as a change agent in the implementation of initiatives that support strategic and operational priorities. He/she will also assist with translating business requirements into technical solutions.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 6 or more years of experience in Financial Services, either primary insurance or reinsurance area OR

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 8 or more years of experience in Financial Services, either primary insurance or reinsurance area AND

  • Knowledge in organizational design and development

  • Experience leading organizational change

  • Broad-based knowledge of insurance industry including knowledge of insurance business processes and processing

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of SAP reinsurance solutions, particularly FS-RI and/or FS-CD and ability to leverage those technologies to improve insurance business processes and transaction processing

  • Project Management Professional Certification from the Project Management Institute

  • In-depth knowledge of the tools, concepts, methodologies and techniques of business process reengineering, change management, performance metrics and measures, customer assessment, cost/benefit analysis, benchmarking, process mapping/simulation, data collection, problem identification and interpretation

  • Advance Microsoft Office skills and/or Alteryx skills

  • Ability to develop collaborative relationships; strong team player

  • Strong analysis and problem-solving skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Compensation for roles at Zurich varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. Candidates with salary expectations outside of the range are encouraged to apply, and will be considered based on experience, skill, and education. The salary provided is a nationwide market range and has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location where the position may be filled.The starting salary range for this position is $83,700.00 - $137,100.00.
