ZRS is currently looking for a AVP, Climate Resilience Leader to support our customer to manage theirs physical and operational risks, and to extend our range of services in response to changing market needs and regulatory demands, working closely with the specialists of the Global C&SS Team.

Reporting to the Head of ZRS,Canada, you will support our commercial customers to enhance their Climate resilience in a rapidly changing world. We do this by offering risk prevention and mitigation services to proactively manage complex risks.

*What you will do - *

• Supporting the ZRS North America sales network in customer acquisition and discussions relating to natural hazards and climate change

• Identify and respond to pertinent RfPs.

• Coordinate and support the delivery of climate resilience services globally.

• Review and implement quality controls on climate resilience services delivered to customers.

• Train and support the local and global network of climate experts

• Supporting the Global Development Team in development of tools, processes, knowledge and awareness (internally and externally).

Job Qualifications

What you bring to the table:

Required:

• Bachelors Degree and 8 or more years of experience in the Risk Engineering area in natural/environmental/atmospheric science or engineering discipline.

OR

• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 10 or more years of experience in the Risk Engineering area in natural/environmental/atmospheric science or engineering discipline.

OR

• Zurich Certified Apprentice, including an Associates degree and 8 or more years of experience in the Risk Engineering area related to natural/environmental/atmospheric science or engineering discipline.

AND

• Knowledge of exposures, controls and best practice risk improvement.

Preferred:

• Extensive knowledge of sustainability and climate risk regulatory frameworks.

• An understanding of climate change science and its practical application.

• Experience in consulting services, or a commercial mindset with an ability to identify opportunities for providing services and a strong customer service orientation.

• Excellent project management, coordination and communication skills.

• A team player.

• Proficient in written and spoken English at a technical level with strong customer service orientation. Any other language is an asset.

• Good knowledge of practical engineering and organizational protection measures for natural hazards and Climate Resilience.

• The ability to communicate complicated concepts in a clear and compelling manner to all levels of management and stakeholders of various levels of technical proficiency.

• Have a business mind-set – with exceptional technical skills – to develop the business in the local market.

• Scope the market to identify, and acquire, potential customers, supporting the local sales teams.

• Support the global C&SS team in development of new services, e.g. assessment of biodiversity risks, urban resilience assessments, nature-based solutions.

• Identify market and regulatory trends related to climate risk and sustainability reporting.

• Consult customers in analyzing and communicating natural hazards- and climate change-related physical and operational risks, as well as developing risk adaptation solutions

• Contribute to events, technical committees, etc. to establish ZRS as a market leader in climate and sustainability solutions.
